This section deals with those acts connected with ablution, but which are not obligatory, as the Prophet (SAW) did not rigorously stick to them or censure them anymore for not doing them. They are as follows:

Allah has chosen certain acts for all of His prophets and their followers to perform. These acts distinguish them from the rest of mankind and are known as sunnan al-fitra (the acts that correspond to the nature of mankind). They are:

The Prophet (SAW) has exhorted us to fast during certain days: six days of Shawwal, the Day of Arafah, the day of Ashura, most of the month of Sha’ban, Monday and Thursday, three days of every month, and the fasting of Prophet Dawud.
