There are times when a man feels he has to get away from it all in order to preserve his emotional balance or intellectual acuteness. According to most psychologists, people are unable to sustain an optimum level of intellectual activity whole in the company of others. This is probably true with respect to most great men.

A thousand years ago, an extremely valuable heritage was formed in Uzbekistan, Southern Russia. This invaluable heritage proved to be scientific find, the foundations of which can still be used in this age. Amongst the Islamic intellectuals responsible for producing philosophical and scientific theories during the glorious age of Islam which became the bridge between ancient Greek civilization and the risen Europe is Abu Ali Al-Husain Ibn Abdullah Ibn Sina. He was born in the year 980 AD in the village of Afshana, near Bukhara, in Uzbekistan.

The Prophet (saw) said: “O people! Verily Allah is pure, and He only accepts what is pure. Allah commands the believers with that with which He commanded the Messengers, and He says: ‘O Messengers, eat from the good foods and do righteous deeds.’ (Qur’an 23: 51). Allah (swt) also mentioned: ‘O you who have believed, eat from the good things which We have provided for you, and be grateful to Allah if it is (indeed) Him that you worship.’ (Qur’an 2: 172). Then the Prophet (saw) mentioned (the case of) a man on a long journey, who is disheveled and dusty, who lifts his hands to the sky (in supplication saying): ‘O Lord! O Lord! All the while, his food is unlawful, his drink is unlawful, his clothing is unlawful, and he is nourished with unlawful things. How can he be responded to for that?’” (Muslim)
