Allah (SWT) said: “But recite unto them with truth the tale of two sons of Adam, how they offered each sacrifice, and it was accepted from the one of them and it was not accepted from the other. (The one) said: I will sure kill you. (The other) answered: Allah accepts only from those who ward off (evil).” (Al-Maidah: 27).

Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi was born on 30 September 1207 in Balkh in the Province of Khurasan. He was descended from Abu Bakr As-Siddiq on his father’s side, and on his mother’s side he was descended from Khurasan’s ruler, Khwarizm Shah. Although he was born and brought up in Central Asia, and although he had Turkish blood in his veins and spent almost fifty years in Konya, a Turkish city, he never wrote anything in Turkish.

Narrated Uqbag ibn Amir (ra) that the Prophet (saw) said: “Beware of being with the ladies.” A man from the Ansar asked: “Allah’s Messenger! What about the close male relatives of the husband (such as his brother or nephew, who are not mahram for his wife)?” The Prophet (saw) replied: “They are death itself.” (Bukhari). In a similar hadith, Ibn Abbas (ra) narrated that the Prophet (saw) said: “No man should stay with a lady in seclusion except in the present of a mahram.” A man stood up and said: “O Allah’s Messenger! My wife has gone out, intending to perform the hajj, and I have been enlisted (in the army) for such-and-such campaign.” The Prophet (saw) said: “Return and perform the hajj with your wife.” (Bukhari)
