The Islamic Union Hockey Team won the Championship for the Fourth Division Hockey League for 2014-2015 season. The team will be promoted to the Third Division next season.

The team under the Sports and Recreation Committee of the Islamic Union of Hong Kong (the Union), has never lost a match or even drew one single game during the league season, an amazing achievement for a hockey team!

All players are Muslims and mainly young boys who never picked up a hockey stick before. After training by some experienced players, these young players achieved exceptionally good results when the Union joined the league in the Sixth Division three years ago.

The Union’s hockey team integrates a purpose with noble aims , one of these are to organize healthy and fun sport activities that able to gather Muslim youths and to strengthen the Islamic brotherhood. Having been successful in the previous season, the Committee is considering forming an extra team with the same aim.

To celebrate the Championship, the Committee organized a special ceremony whereby the Chairman of the Union, Bro. A.R. Suffaid and Vice Chairman, Haji Saeeduddin and Legal Advisory Committee Chairlady DR. Nisha Mohamed presented prizes and awards to the outstanding players in the Hockey League Championship. The function was attended by Council Members, Imams and parents of the players.
