The Prophet (saw) said: “The key to Paradise is Laa ilaaha illallah (none is worthy of worship except Allah) and its doors are Laa haula walaa quwwata illa billah (there is no might or power except with Allah).”

How come anxiety visits you, when a Paradise, the breadth of the heavens and the earth awaits you? Be zealous upon the statement La ilaha illallah. Work for your Hereafter, seek compassion from your Lord, He is close to the believers. Allah (swt) said: “Is there any reward for good other than good.” (Ar-Rahman: 60)

Look at the world. In this world there is illness but in Paradise you will never fall ill. In this world there is poverty but in Paradise you’d never be poor. The end of this world is death but there is no death in Paradise; no grief, no anxiety, no rancour nor grudge in Paradise.

In it is that which no eye has seen, no any hear heard, nor any human mind contemplated. In it are the houris (females). Allah (swt) said: “Verily the muttaqun (pious) will be in the midst of Gardens and rivers.” (Al-Qamar: 54)

Why should you grieve when you are from the ummah of Muhammad (saw)? How can you grieve when you are from the noblest and best nation? The Prophet (saw) said: “We are the last (last nation to come in this world) but the first in the Hereafter.”

That which awaits you O sick one, O you visited with calamities and accident is Paradise. Its breadth is the heavens and the earth. So, act righteous deeds that you may live in the Paradise of your Lord and that your end might be pleasant. Allah (swt) said: “Peace be upon you for that you persevered in patient! Excellent indeed is final home.” (Ar-Ra’d: 24)

Do you not wish to see your Prophet Muhammad (saw) and your Prophets (as) all together in Paradise? You shall definitely see them with your eyes. You shall see Abu Bakr, Umar, Ali, Hamzah, Khalid, Abu Ubaidah, Sa’ad, Ibn Abbas. You shall not be with Abu Lahab nor shall you see Al-Walid bin Al-Mughirah nor Abu Jahl.

Fervently implore your Lord and Creator, entreat Him so that you might be amongst the inmates of Paradise and jettison grief.

As a matter of fact, you shall see your Lord, your Protector, the King of kings, clearly with your eyes.

A German philosopher, Kent, said: “The theatre of life has not ended because there is a second stage on the Day of Resurrection. In this world we see an oppressor and an oppressed, a victor and a vanquished; therefore, there necessarily must be another world wherein justice will be achieved.”

Ash-Shaykh Tantawee – may Allah shower blessings on him – comments upon this statement saying: “This is an implicit recognition of the Hereafter and the Day of Resurrection by this stranger (to faith). Allah (swt) said: “Today, no injustice (shall be done to anybody). Truly, Allah is Swift in reckoning.” (Al-Ghafir: 17)

Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal, when asked when the rest will be, said, “When I am placed in Paradise, then I shall rest!”

A student who had a pious mother who would wake him up in the last third of the night: “O mother, I want to rest?” She said: “I have not woken you except that you rest O son. When you enter Paradise, and then take a rest!”

Those who hasten the rest by abandoning the obligations are in reality hastening true punishment. The rest, O Muslim brother, is indeed, fulfilling the obligations, assisting others upon good deeds, and sincerity to the religion, and country. It is in profiting from ones time with that which will bring you joy and good.

Al-Hasan Al-Basri – may Allah shower blessings on him – says: “Do not accept as a prize for your soul except the Paradise. Verily your soul is the soul of a Muslim, it is valuable. Do not sell it for a trifling.”

Do not lament over the loss of your wealth or the crash of your car. Rather, be engrossed in the obedience of your Lord. Reckon yourself according to your limitations.
